There is a time in every musician’s life when he or she wonders what they would sound like if their music was auto-tuned. I recently had the opportunity to add heinous effects to our cover of this Blondie song and auto-tune the vocals. Now you will know what NATK would sound like if we were actually Lady Ga Ga. A real treat, I know . . .

My nephew Francis, just turned two. He calls me ‘Gunkle’ as in “Uncle” (more recently Gunk Gunk). Anyway, it wouldn’t be a proper birthday party without live music. The Dance Move Burglars made their debut (Euro-motion cover band) and Nervous and the Kid did a few stripped down acoustic songs. In other news: We are really putting out an album. Hopefully before the end of the summer. Don’t forget to pre-order yours!
One of the unintended pleasures of making this new album and re-establishing a web presence is discovering fans we never knew we had. Our first album which was home recorded and released in 2000-2001 by Turn Records, made its way around the world despite a very small pressing. One friend saw a copy in a record store in France. I think we did 500 or 1000 copies and printed the covers by hand.
Recently, I’ve talked to an artist who lives in China and a girl who found our album in a dollar bin and I got this really cool email From SGT. Dan:

We really had an awesome time recording on the coast. The weather was ridiculously nice for this time of year. The living room had a panoramic view of the ocean. Our underpaid and overworked recording engineers were real troopers. Kevin dawned a red jogging suit and Zach wore a Mexican wrestling mask for much of the sessions.
I was also presented with a cake, a pair of studio headphones as well as a bottle of scotch for my birthday. Apparently I was totally oblivious to the cake making despite having walked into the kitchen once or twice.
And now after like 9 years, Nervous and the kid will finally have a new album. We still need money to put it out though. So please pre-purchase your copy.

Now is the season for the delicious and over priced apples like the Honey Crisp. I just spent 5 dollars on 4 apples. But they’re kinda woth it.
They’re really really good.
I feel similarly about a good tangelo. Though it’s the peeling of a tangello that really makes the experience perfect. The skin just falls off.
Funny . . .I’ll spend 5 bucks on apples but I wont spend more than 8 dollars on wine.
We did a preliminary recording of one of my favorite songs of our new repertoire. It’s a song about forgetting things, and things forgetting us. It’s called My Autumn Mind (The “n” in Autumn is so silent, I always forget it). We recorded this live so it’s rough around the edges, but I think there is potential for a really cool recording of this in February when we get serious about recording.
